Our Ethics Come With Enforcement — and Our AI Policy Comes in Writing.
GFG Financial is a licensed accounting and business insurance firm. The people doing your work answer to professional codes with real enforcement behind them — not just a company handbook. That also means we owe you a straight answer about how we use technology, including AI. This page is that answer.
Who we answer to
What Professional Codes Bind the GFG Team?
Licensed professionals answer to their licensing bodies before they answer to anyone else. At GFG:
- Our CPAs are bound by the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and answer to the Washington State Board of Accountancy.
- Our Enrolled Agents practice under the IRS’s rules governing practice before the IRS (Treasury Circular 230).
- Our insurance professionals are licensed through the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner.
Integrity, objectivity, due care, and confidentiality are not values statements here. They are enforceable duties, and every credential on our Awards & Recognition page carries them.
Our AI policy
Does GFG Use AI?
Yes — as tools, under professional review.
We use modern software, including AI-assisted tools, where they make the work faster or more accurate — the same way we use every other tool in the practice. What never changes is who is responsible: nothing an AI tool produces goes to you, the IRS, or an insurance carrier without a licensed professional reviewing it and standing behind it.
AI never signs. A person is accountable for every deliverable that leaves this firm. If a tool and a professional disagree, the professional’s judgment wins — that is the whole point of hiring one.
The lines we hold
What We Won't Do
- We will not sell your information. How we protect it lives on the Security & Privacy page.
- We will not hand your work to an anonymous processing queue. Your account belongs to a named professional you can meet with.
- We will not let a model make a judgment call that belongs to a licensed professional.
- We will not take an engagement where we cannot act in your best interest.
Independence & objectivity
Whose Interests Drive Our Recommendations?
Yours. GFG is an independent firm with relationships across many institutions, which means recommendations are driven by fit — not by a parent company’s product list. When we suggest a payroll structure, a benefits arrangement, or an insurance carrier, the reason is that it suits your business. We act as a fiduciary, making recommendations based on your needs and without a kickback for making specific suggestions.
Raising a concern
How Do You Raise a Concern With Us?
Directly. Call (509) 582-2047 or use the contact page and ask to speak with one of the firm’s owners — Nathan Burt, Tyson Reil, or Mark Haynes. If your concern is about a licensed professional’s conduct, the licensing bodies above take complaints too — and we will tell you how to reach them. A firm confident in its standards has no reason to make that hard to find.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. AI-assisted tools may speed up parts of the work, but your return is prepared and reviewed by licensed professionals, and a person signs it. Nothing goes to the IRS without professional review.
We are — the licensed professionals on your account are responsible for all of the work they sign off on. That accountability is enforceable through the licensing bodies listed on this page, which is exactly the difference between a firm and a software subscription.
